A gamut of musicians and artists gather together to invoke songs and images of rebellion and make you want to get out and keep rising up. Participants include Lenny Kaye, Invert, Kenny Wollesen, Marc Ribot, Rebecca Moore, Bonfire Madigan, Hanifa Walidah, John Frazier, Jeff Lewis, Seth Tobocman (slides and music – with Eric Blitz, Steve Wishnia and Emilio (zef) China and filmmaker Jem Cohen, among others!

The Jeffrey Lewis Band JUST returned to New York from a great UK-Europe tour, BUT we are about to start a new European tour on Monday March 27, doing 14 shows with Adam Green! A few UK dates will follow – all dates are below. Most of the below shows will also have opening sets by Jack Stipplicon Dishel, AKA Only Son!!

FREE- The Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, happening all weekend long… On Sunday night at 9 the Jeffrey Lewis Band will perform “The History of Punk on the Lower East Side, 1950 – 1975”. Prior to the Jeffrey Lewis Band, Tuli Kupferberg will perform his “First National Anthem”. Saturday June 3, NYC – The Lewis Family at Blue Stockings! Blue Stockings is a bookstore on 172 Allen Street between Stanton and Rivington – 1 block south of Houston and 1st Avenue (F Train). Music goes from 7 – 10.
Lewis elder statesman Professor Louie, with percussionist Fast Eddie, will entertain and enlighten as few others can. Call him the Woody Guthrie of the Brooklyn streets, call him rap or spoken word, or be like Pete Seeger and just call him “genius!” The Jeffrey & Jack Lewis Band will perform their eclectic mixture of “lo-fi folk, sci-fi punk and low budget videos.” Jeffrey and Jacks’ cousin (Professor Louie’s daughter), Brooklyn songwriter Shayna Lewis, will open the evening, making it a full Lewis Family event, and not to be missed!
